Tom Allen

Tom Allen worked for @Road Inc. for 8 years serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. During this time the company grew in revenue from one million dollars to over 100 million before being acquired by Trimble Navigation Ltd. In this role he was responsible for managing @Road's Information Technology infrastructure, as well as @Road's Customer Service functions. This included providing leadership for the company's network, computing, software development and internal systems design and support teams.

Prior to @Road Mr. Allen served as Vice President of Network Engineering at Visa International where he led the voice and data network engineering and operations functions. In this capacity he played a key role in the rollout of Visa's E-Commerce initiatives, enabling Visa to launch key internet based services including SET(Secure Electronic Transaction) and Bankruptcy/Fraud Risk Prediction Services. Mr. Allen's team successfully built two large fault tolerant internet portal sites in the US and Europe in support of these programs.

Prior to that Mr. Allen managed the Technology Integration Division of the IT organization at Edison International, where he oversaw development projects in the TCP-IP networking and client/server computing areas. Mr. Allen testified before the California Public Utilities Commission in support of technology initiatives and projects at EI. Mr. Allen holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo, an MBA from San Jose State University and a Certificate in Executive Management from the Peter F. Drucker Management Center at the Claremont Graduate University. Mr. Allen also completed studies in the Stanford Business School Executive Education Program.

Joe Roebuck

Joe Roebuck has more than 30 years of experience in computer industry sales and marketing. He was Vice President Worldwide Sales for Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation. He built the sales organization from a force of 14 people and $9 million in sales, to a force of 10,000 sales, systems engineering, and information technology specialists and $18 billion in sales.

Joe is credited with building one of the most effective and successful sales organizations in the technology industry. Prior to joining Sun Microsystems, Joe very briefly was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Osborne Computer, Director of Vertical Marketing and Education Marketing at Apple Computer, and Vice President of Western Sales Area at Honeywell Information Systems. Joe graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Economics, and is a graduate of the AMP Program at the Harvard Business School.

 

Dr. Iwao Toda

As an award-winning engineer and accomplished author, Dr. Toda has distinguished himself within the computing and telecommunications sectors with well over 30 years of engineering and executive management experience. He has spent twelve years working with Fujitsu, most recently as a Fellow in the laboratories. Prior to joining Fujitsu, he was an executive Vice President of NTT, Research and Development. Dr. Toda led the development of the DIPS project, a large-scale online computer series that ushered in a new class of telecommunications service in Japan.
